CNN Panelists Give Obama Significantly Higher Marks than Public

The majority of CNN panelists awarded the Obama administration significantly higher marks than the general public on its “CNN National Report Card: Second 100 Days,” according to my analysis. The analysis might serve to challenge CNN’s marketing posture that they are a middle of the road, independent cable news outlet.

Five Reasons the Health Care Battle Is NOT the Presidential Campaign

As Democrats fight for a signature issue, a serious strategic blunder has left them scrambling to catch up with their opponents. The White House should have laid out clear, unwavering objectives, a solid plan, rather than leave the health debate to meander through Congress. That vacuum has enabled the proponents of the status quo to marshal their forces. Perhaps resorting to campaign tactics will turn the tide, I certainly hope so, but it bears acknowledging that the landscape has changed.

Why David Gregory’s Numbers Are Weak - Giving Summers a Pass on Bonuses

On Meet The Press, a brief exchange between Larry Summers and David Gregory perfectly encapsulates Gregory’s problem. He asked Summers, whose soporific style is hard to endure for more than a few minutes, about Wall Street bonuses. This is a good line of questioning - and a terribly neglected one. One of the great travesties (and news stories) of 2009 is the highway robbery perpetrated by the likes of Goldman Sachs.
