Kennedy Serve America Act (formally the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education (GIVE) Act) authorizes a dramatic funding increase for AmeriCorps and other volunteer programs, and the creation of new programs for seniors and veterans. He is building his “civilian army”, which has already been predicted. Unfortunately, others do not read , or do not read and take notice of liberties being lost every day. How is he funding this takeover of our country? Social Security is not funded through 2037.  With the current economy, and the lack of a “trust fund”, social security is broke in two years. The govt keeps taking the “trust fund”, rather than investing it. And the current economy, along with the longer lives of individuals, is causing social security to come to a screeching halt.
Forget about healthcare reform….wonder about how you are going to support your parents, who have paid social security taxes all their lives, when they are suddenly cut off because the govt has no money, has scwandered all the money…are you going to be the SEIU tee shirt guy pushing down a guy, maybe one with an oxygen tank, maybe one in a wheelchair, because he disagrees with your (and the Administrations views). And believe me, if you are, you are in for a world of civil lawsuits…....and the fact is, the administration at this time has no money to fight for you, they are too worried about pushing through their president’s pet projects…Just like in Illinois, what you sow you reap

I’d say we’ve gone well beyond racism, and that color has little to do with it at this point.  We’ve let our own personal beliefs get the best of us (which is understandable at times) and it’s purely prejudice at this moment in time… a prejudice against other peoples’ politics and personal opinions.  This incessant need to drown out, talk over and belittle ones beliefs, be it in a town hall, internet, newspapers, or on fox or msnbc just because they don’t match their own is what’s becoming dangerous… and both sides of the political spectrum are completely guilty of this. 

The problem with this video is that I almost understand the guy… he’s just quite a bit more extreme than I could even imagine me being.  It has been frustrating seeing so little being done around our borders.  You want to create jobs Mr.Obama… start there.  I’d rather you employ more people to help secure our borders than waste billions on a clunker program that will inevitably lead to higher used car and used parts prices, thanks to the simple formula called supply and demand.    Some would have like to have seen that done 8 years ago come next month.  We haven’t, and many consider that a giant failure…  especially in my opinion of George Bush (who I voted for twice)

Would I insist on executing the illegals?  Not at all… even I find that a bit cuckoo (and trust me, I know cuckoo)  However, I certainly wouldn’t be out there planning to legalize the roughly 30 million plus (as Obama made mention to recently) who currently are living in this country by going around the law, costing legitimate taxpayers millions at the same time.  They want to do this for pure political reasons… and that’s quite sickening. 

They want to do it now, and the want to ensure the illegals will be voting Obama back in 2012.  No matter how bad he screws this country up, illegal immigrants would become quite the demographic, and the pandering will most certainly be kicked into overdrive (and what better way to start it off then by saying “free health care… come on over… and don’t forget who made it all possible”).  They may as well start setting up organizing efforts along the border now and hand out ACORN t-shirts along the Rio Grande.

It’s just another think many people don’t want…

Heaven forbid that we express concern when the President of the United States of America says he has never said he wants a single-payer health care system, yet twice he has been recorded saying precisely that, that he does want a single-payer health care system. In fact, in the more recent recording, the then Senator says it may take a number of years, but that his goals is to have a single payer health care system in the USA. In most people’s minds, it is considered lying when someone says one thing when the records show he previously said something quite different.

Have you ever heard of adrenalin? In the excitement, the body will secrete this hormone. Among it’s effects, is the suppression of pain. It is only later after the effects wear off does one begin to realize the pain and extent of their injuries.

Unless you are a doctor who treated Mr. Gladney, you should refrain from making such uninformed judgments.

President Obama has never denied that he thinks the best solution is single payer.  In a 2007 interview, he points out that while that is his preference, he realizes that in this country it will not work.

As far as Hilary “screaming”, sorry you “guess” wrong.  Please distinguish the difference between criticizing dissent (which no one is doing), and attempting to shut down debate, which lots of people are doing and is being RIGHTFULLY criticized.

I know that of the many injuries that I saw, and suffered my self, NOT ONCE did I ever see anyone so pumped with adrenaline that they could continue to play after suffering an injury that put them in a wheelchair the very next day.

No I am not a doctor. But you too should refrain from making uninformed judgements. 

In any case, if it is legitimate for conservative website the Weekly Standard to speculate that the swastika incident at the office of a Georgia Democratic congressman was likely a plant or an outright fraud, then it is entirely legitimate to speculate that Mr. Gladney is faking his injuries.

Ultimately, I think it is a very sad state of affairs in this country when we as Americans cannot even agree that “putting a bullet in somone’s head” is a vile, contemptible thing to say, regardless of which political cause is being supported.

This country is fracturing.  And call me partisan if you will, I think it is largely the doing of the political right that engages in a campaign of psychotic hostility towards the President of the United States, whenever they lose an election. Bill Clinton was accused of drug smuggling and complicity in a murder conspiracy.  The stakes have only grown larger and the accusations even more outlandish.

And unless you can provide a link to a Democratic member of Congress claiming George Bush wants to put kids in reeducation camps, or kill old people, spare me the fiction of “Democrats do it too”. No we don’t.

Time to get your facts straight. Yesterday, President Obama said “I have not said that I was a single-payer [health care system] supporter”.

Oh, and just so you know, I suffered a second degree shoulder separation—did not need surgery. It was sorer the day after than just after it occurred. Do not be so sanctimonious as to question the legitimacy of Mr. Gladney’s injuries simply because he was able to stand and walk just after being kicked and beat by at least two thugs who did not agree with him and his politics.

The “Summer of Our Discontent” is, unfortunately, tinder under the fire of violent insanity that Fox and others plan for September 12 in Washington, DC.

Bravo. However, as evidenced by most of the comments above, these folks aren’t interested in legitimate protest, disagreement, or debate. They simply parrot the lies they have been told by extremists fear-mongers, and show no reciprocal respect for the right of others to also protest, disagree, debate, etc. This is proved by their primary tactic, which is to disrupt meetings and talk over the speakers. That’s not informed debate, that’s hooliganism. Further, I don’t believe anyone on the left is trying to silence their protest or deny their right to say and believe whatever they want. Rather, those on the left are disgusted by the extreme right’s penchant for screaming lies to drown out the very people they came to have a conversation with.

I saw my soccer goalie take two knees to the head, get up, and play 40 more minutes with double vision.  The next day he came to school in a neck brace and a sling—seems that besides the concussion, he had got a broken collarbone and a dislocated shoulder, too.
And he only let in one goal.  That’s not a wheelchair, but I think it’s the functional equivalent.

Now, the kid with the compound fracture of the forearm… he didn’t finish the game.
