ABC Updates

There is a ton of media criticism out there to which I have little original to add.  Suffice to say there is very little justification for ABC’s decision to essentially hand the newsroom and the network over to the Obama administration.

There have been a couple of developments of note, however.  The organization “Conservatives for Patients Rights” has tallied ABC employees’ contributions to Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign versus John McCain’s campaign and readers are unlikely to be surprised by the imbalance.

And it appears “former ABC News correspondent Linda Douglass is now the Director of Communications for the Obama White House Office of Health Reform.” A not terribly surprising coincidence.

I was almost at the point at which I would applaud ABC’s scrapping of the always-dubious protestations of objectivity, but then they had to go and make the self-evidently ridiculous claim that the broadcast will be balanced and all sides will get a fair airing.
