White House attempted to bounce FNC from pool; Media backs up FNC

This is pretty dispicable.  The White House actually attempted to bounce Fox News from the White House pool to prohibit them from being able to interview the new “Pay Czar.”  In a Strange New Respect moment, the non-FNC media backed FNC up:

How Many Bloggers Were (Secretly) Invited to the White House 4th Bash?

Gawker is getting attention with this scoop: “Reporters from roughly 30 television networks, newspapers, magazines, and web sites celebrated the Fourth of July with Barack Obama at the White House last weekend. Why didn’t you know that? Because they were sworn to secrecy.” My question is this: how many members of the online community were invited? Did White House “Coordinate” with Huffington Post Reporter?

The White House didn’t have to coordinate with HuffPo to know what Nico Pitney was going to ask, since he wrote this the day before the presser: “Tomorrow, President Obama is holding a news conference at the White House and I’ll be attending. If I get called, I want to ask a question that comes directly from an Iranian.”

Obama Administration Fighting to Block Access to Names of White House Visitors

Athenae has the angle: “I look forward to howls of Republican outrage over this. You know, all along during arguments with wingnuts they kept assuming this was all Bush Derangement Syndrome, that the only reason anybody wanted to know anything was to mess with Bush. Well, now it’s turned back around….”

ABC/White House Merge

… Well, according to Drudge anyway, and the facts he lays out in his story are distressing, if not terribly surprising ...
